Overview

To carry out any required boats GRP finishing work to the required standards on the boat body parts.

Specific Skills
  • Knowledge of fiberglass and gel-coat repair techniques.
  • Knowledge of painting and polishing methods.
  • Pass all skill tests.
Responsible For
  • Conduct parts inspection and finish to an agreed factory standard (high quality).
  • Assist in painting, preparation of any required component.
  • Aid in inspection of parts to determine defects and remedial work.
  • Carry out grinding and cleaning of molded fiberglass components.
  • Execute trimming tasks of fiberglass using the correct tools.
  • Fiberglass and gel-coat repair.
  • Operation of buffers, utilize wax and towels to polish finish to high standards.
  • Inspect boat surfaces for defects such as air voids, cuts, cracks, chips and implement repairs.
  • Using hand and power tools to sand, polish and repair fiberglass surfaces.
  • Comply with safety regulations and keep work areas clean and neat.
  • Physically able to climb in and out of boats.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Educational Requirements
  • No specific education or certification required.
